Frelimo were vocal in their solidarity with other anti-imperialist movements, including the Revolutionary Democratic Front of El Salvador (as here), the Sandinista Liberation Front of Nicaragua, the Polisario Front of Western Sahara and the Fretilin movement of East Timor, which shared Mozambique’s experience of Portuguese colonialism.
