By 1979, Mozambique had endured two years of violence and destabilisation from opposition group Renamo, backed by anti-communist regimes in South Africa and Rhodesia. Despite the multiple challenges which Frelimo faced, this poster proudly announces a ‘consolidation of conquests’ including the comprehensive socialist programme introduced at the Third Congress (1977).
